Poetry Exercise #3: Sonnet

(this is actually a sonnet I had laying around in my notebook)

Sonnet – Untitled

Locked up inside what came out of me and you
There was never room for two in this cage
My bread and body now clear as water
The blind love trapped so long it aged to rage
With a bitter funk and a sweet malaise
The uncomfortable beast so hungry
Starving for a visitor or a phone call
With every fight it stole the light from me
You are so right I am a criminal
I broke the Golden Rule with silver chains
And now the fit punishment fits the crime
Behind bars out of reach from the blaming
Far away from the war and peace of naming
